Galatasaray drew 2-2 with Italian side Lazio in their 5th pre-season friendly match held at home.

Galatasaray draws with Lazio in friendly match

As part of their pre-season preparations, Galatasaray faced Italian representative Lazio at RAMS Park in their 5th and final friendly match. The Yellow-Reds took a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute with a goal from Lucas Torreira. The visiting team equalized in the 33rd minute with an own goal by Davinson Sanchez, and then took a 2-1 lead with a goal from Mattia Zaccagni in the 45+1st minute, with the first half ending at that score. Galatasaray equalized in the 74th minute with another goal from Lucas Torreira. With no further goals in the remaining minutes, the Yellow-Reds drew 2-2 with Lazio.

The match between Galatasaray and Lazio was officiated by referee Mehmet Türkmen. Türkmen was assisted by Samet Özkul and Şenol Bektaş. Çağdaş Altay served as the 4th official for the match.

GALATASARAY'S STARTING XI

The Yellow-Reds started the match with the following XI: Günay Güvenç, Kaan Ayhan, Davinson Sanchez, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Eren Elmalı, Mario Lemina, Lucas Torreira, Gabriel Sara, Leroy Sane, Ismail Jakobs, and Roland Sallai.

Jankat Yılmaz, Enes Emre Büyük, Elias Jelert, Victor Nelsson, Derrick Köhn, Kazımcan Karataş, Metehan Baltacı, Arda Ünyay, Eyüp Aydın, Barış Alper Yılmaz, and Ahmed Kutucu waited on the bench.

LEROY SANE STARTED IN THE XI

German footballer Leroy Sane, one of Galatasaray's new signings, was in the starting XI for the first time in the Lazio match. Sane thus played his 2nd match with the Yellow-Reds. The Lion's new number 10 was substituted in the 63rd minute of the match.

2 GOALS FROM TORREIRA

Uruguayan footballer Lucas Torreira scored his team's goals against Lazio. In the 10th minute, Torreira sent the ball into the net with a header at the back post from a free kick taken by Gabriel Sara from the right wing. The 29-year-old footballer appeared on the scene again in the 74th minute, this time finding the net with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area. Having played in all 5 friendly matches Galatasaray has played, Lucas Torreira scored his first goals of the season in the Lazio match.

Yunus Akgün, Barış Alper Yılmaz, Elias Jelert, Derrick Köhn, Ahmed Kutucu, Arda Ünyay, Eyüp Aydın, Kazımcan Karataş, Victor Nelsson, and Metehan Baltacı were brought into the game in the second half.

Galatasaray took the field in the Lazio match with their new alternative jersey. The Yellow-Reds had introduced the 3rd jersey they will use this season before the match, following their traditional striped and white jerseys.

Drawing with Lazio, Galatasaray remained undefeated in their 5th and final friendly match. The Yellow-Reds had previously defeated Ümraniyespor 5-2, Admira Wacker 2-1, Cagliari 3-1, and Strasbourg 3-1 in their earlier friendly matches.
