Galatasaray extends contract of Metehan Baltacı, currently on loan to Gençlerbirliği, until 2029
The yellow-reds have extended the contract of the 23-year-old center-back, who was loaned to Gençlerbirliği at the start of the season, by one year, moving the expiration date to 2029.
Galatasaray has made a new decision regarding the contract of Metehan Baltacı, whom they loaned to Gençlerbirliği for one season at the beginning of the campaign.
The yellow-red club has extended the 23-year-old center-back's contract, which was set to expire in June 2028, by an additional year. It has been reported to the Turkish Football Federation that the new contract is valid until 2029.
Following the extension of his contract at Galatasaray, Metehan Baltacı will continue to spend this season playing for Gençlerbirliği.
The young defender was arrested on December 9 as part of an investigation into "betting in football" and was released 105 days later at the first hearing of the case.
The Turkish Football Federation's Professional Football Discipline Committee had also imposed a 9-month ban on Baltacı as part of the "illegal betting" investigation. The player's suspension ended as of August 7.
