Galatasaray fails to hold advantage and bids farewell to Europe: Osimhen injured and substituted
In the Champions League Round of 16 second leg, Galatasaray was defeated 4-0 away by Liverpool and bid farewell to Europe.
At Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen was substituted at halftime due to an ankle injury sustained in the first half. Noa Lang, who entered the game in the second half, cut his finger after colliding with an advertising board and was replaced by Icardi in the 80th minute.
In the 45+4th minute, Uğurcan Çakır saved a penalty from Mohamed Salah. The national goalkeeper made significant saves throughout the 90 minutes.

Liverpool, which advanced to the quarterfinals, was paired with PSG in this round.
Galatasaray had no missing players other than the suspended Davinson Sanchez. For Liverpool, Joe Gomez, Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley, and Stefan Bajcetic were not in the squad due to injuries.

Match referee changed
The Liverpool-Galatasaray match was officiated by fourth official Pawel Raczkowski after referee Szymon Marciniak sustained an injury.

It was reported that Marciniak, who was announced to officiate the match, suffered an injury during the warm-up.

Fourth official Raczkowski blew the whistle in the match in place of the experienced referee.
