Galatasaray's 'backup' formula for Icardi: They want Fenerbahçe's former striker

Galatasaray was defeated 2-1 away by Bayern Munich in the 4th match of the UEFA Champions League Group A.

While Icardi's self-sacrificing effort despite his injury drew great appreciation, the performance of Bakambu, who has been waiting for a chance on the bench behind Icardi, is causing concern. 

It has been learned that head coach Okan Buruk has submitted a comprehensive report to the management, and that the administrators have begun transfer efforts in line with this report. 

BERISHA CLAIM

According to a report on A Spor; Galatasaray has added Mergim Berisha, who plays for Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, to its agenda.

It is alleged that the yellow-reds tested the waters for the transfer of the 25-year-old forward before the Bayern Munich match. It was reported that Berisha was offered to Cimbom through agents and that the former Fenerbahçe striker is being evaluated. 

It was noted that Berisha, who has not been able to display the desired performance at Hoffenheim this season, is warm to the option of returning to Turkey. 

It was stated that the German forward's club, Hoffenheim, is also open to the transfer and could send Berisha out on loan. It was indicated that clearer developments regarding the transfer could occur within 1-2 weeks. 

COULD NOT DELIVER AS EXPECTED

Mergim Berisha has appeared in a total of 10 matches in Germany this season. Berisha has not been able to provide any goals or assists in these matches. 

Berisha, who was previously transferred to Fenerbahçe from the German team Augsburg for a transfer fee of 4 million Euros, was later sold to Hoffenheim for 14 million Euros during this summer's transfer window.
