Galatasaray and Trabzonspor faced off in the Ziraat Turkish Cup final.

Galatasaray started the match played at Gaziantep Metropolitan Stadium quickly. The yellow-reds took a 1-0 lead in the 5th minute with a goal from Barış Alper Yılmaz.

The first half of the match ended with Galatasaray leading 1-0.

'Cimbom' doubled the lead in the opening seconds of the second half. Victor Osimhen, who met the ball behind the defense following a pass from Yunus Akgün, stayed on his feet during a challenge with Okay Yokuşlu and made the score 2-0 with a shot from the right side of the penalty area.

Galatasaray found another goal in the 63rd minute, further easing their path in the match. After entering the penalty area, Yunus Akgün passed to an open Osimhen. The Nigerian striker scored his second and the team's third goal, making the score 3-0.

There were no more goals in the remainder of the match, and Galatasaray left the pitch with a 3-0 victory, taking the Ziraat Turkish Cup to their trophy cabinet.

With this, Galatasaray achieved the success of winning the Turkish Cup for the 19th time in its history.

The yellow-reds remain the team that has won the cup the most times.

OSIMHEN MAKES TURKISH FOOTBALL HISTORY

Osimhen also found the net twice in the Trabzonspor match in the Ziraat Turkish Cup, reaching a total of 35 goals this season. With 35 goals, Osimhen broke the record of Mario Jardel, who was the footballer with the most goals in a single season in Turkey.

With this match, Galatasaray played in the Turkish Cup final for the 24th time. The yellow-reds, who last defeated Akhisarspor in the final on May 15, 2019, repeated this success in Gaziantep 6 years later.

Apart from the yellow-reds, Beşiktaş has won the cup 11 times, Trabzonspor 9 times, and Fenerbahçe 7 times.

OKAN BURUK'S 2ND TURKISH CUP JOY

Galatasaray Manager Okan Buruk won the Ziraat Turkish Cup for the 2nd time in his career as a manager.

In the Ziraat Turkish Cup final, Galatasaray defeated Trabzonspor 3-0 in Gaziantep and became the owner of the cup. Manager Okan Buruk also added a new one to his trophy collection with the yellow-reds. With this result, Buruk experienced the joy of winning the Turkish Cup for the 2nd time as a manager. The 51-year-old manager had previously won the Turkish Cup with Akhisarspor in 2018 by defeating Fenerbahçe in the final.

Okan Buruk achieved the success of winning the Turkish Cup for the first time as Galatasaray manager.
