Galatasaray reacts to Liverpool: 'They are responsible'
Galatasaray General Secretary Eray Yazgan has reacted to Liverpool's failure to issue any apology regarding the injury of Noa Lang during their Champions League match, stating, "Whoever is responsible for this must be punished as soon as possible. The primary party responsible is Liverpool Football Club."
Galatasaray, who were defeated 4-0 by Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg, were shaken by the injury of Noa Lang in the 80th minute.
The Dutch footballer, whose hand got caught in the advertising boards, underwent surgery due to a serious cut on his finger.
ERAY YAZGAN: 'THEY ARE TRYING TO DIVERT THE ISSUE'
Galatasaray General Secretary Eray Yazgan made statements regarding the matter and reacted to Liverpool.
Speaking to A Spor, Yazgan used the following expressions:
"While Liverpool has not even apologized, we see that they are trying to divert the issue by bringing up imaginary claims about social media comments allegedly made against their own player, Konate."
"UEFA has launched an ex officio investigation into this matter. We have made a number of applications. From the moment the incident occurred, we have been in contact with UEFA representatives, observers, and the UEFA headquarters. This is a very serious cause for liability, not just in a stadium where a Champions League Round of 16 match is being played, but anywhere... Whoever is responsible for this must be punished as soon as possible. The primary party responsible is Liverpool Football Club."
