Galatasaray's striker target has changed: Rival is a Portuguese giant
It is claimed that the yellow-reds want to sign Dynamo Kyiv's 20-year-old striker on loan with an option to buy.
As Galatasaray continues its preparations for the new season, transfer efforts have intensified in the striker position. Having made its first addition with Lesley Ugochukwu from Burnley, it is reported that the yellow-reds want to finalize another transfer before the Austria training camp.
According to a report by TRT Spor, Galatasaray has initiated efforts for Matviy Ponomarenko, who plays for Dynamo Kyiv. It was stated that the yellow-red management is continuing negotiations with Dynamo Kyiv to loan the 20-year-old Ukrainian striker with an option to buy.
It is stated that the Ukrainian representative expects a direct transfer fee for the young player. It is claimed that the transfer fee Dynamo Kyiv is considering for Ponomarenko is around 25 million Euros.
Information also suggests that Galatasaray is not the only candidate in the transfer. It is alleged that the Portuguese team Porto is also interested in Ponomarenko and is prepared to pay 20 million Euros for the player.
Last season, Matviy Ponomarenko played 23 matches for Dynamo Kyiv, recording 16 goals and 1 assist.
