Galatasaray defeated Spain's Bidaideak Bilbao BSR 101-98 after two overtimes in their first match of the IWBF Champions Cup Group A.
The match, part of the tournament organized by the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation Europe (IWBF Europe), was held at the Şehit Mustafa Özel Sports Complex.
The visiting team finished the first quarter with an 18-12 lead and went into the locker room ahead 40-29.
After Bidaideak Bilbao BSR finished the third quarter with a 61-45 lead, the yellow-reds increased the tempo in the fourth period, and the match ended in a 77-77 draw in regulation time.
While the first overtime period of the contest also ended in a 90-90 tie, Galatasaray was more effective in the second overtime and left the court with a 101-98 victory.
Galatasaray will face Germany's Köln 99ers tomorrow at 11:15 AM and the French representative Hornets Le Cannet at 7:45 PM in Group A at the Şehit Mustafa Özel Sports Complex.
