Galatasaray issues statement on black market ticket allegations
Galatasaray Sports Club has released a statement regarding the black market ticket allegations that have recently come to the fore.
In a statement regarding the matter, the yellow-red club said, "In order to put an end to the speculations aimed at associating our club with black market tickets, our President Dursun Aydın Özbek made a call to the entire Galatasaray community during the press conference on August 23, requesting that anyone with information or documentation apply to our club.
In the time that has passed, not only information but all complaints made have been accepted as reports, and Passo officials have been contacted regarding every transaction that was the subject of these complaints.
Furthermore, it has been decided to have an independent audit firm conduct an irregularity investigation into the allegations that are the subject of the aforementioned rumors, and to resort to legal action against those involved if any abuse is detected as a result of the investigation.
The online ticket sales system software development work, which was requested from Passo as of last season, has been completed, and the new system has been in use since the beginning of the season. Work to further improve this system is ongoing.
With the new system, each of our season ticket holders has been granted the right to transfer their match tickets to 3 people they designate, without limitation, throughout the entire season. Detailed information on this subject will be provided to our season ticket holders separately. Apart from this, all season ticket and ticket transfers have been closed.
Regarding the speculative news in question, an application has also been made to the Capital Markets Board (SPK) for the necessary investigation to be conducted.
In addition to all these developments, our Audit Committee has informed our Board of Directors that it has launched an investigation into the allegations within the framework of its powers and responsibilities arising from the legislation. The process will continue to be shared with the public with full transparency."
