In the first half of the match played at RAMS Park, both Galatasaray and PAOK created chances, but there were no goals, and the teams went to the locker room tied at 0-0.
Galatasaray took the lead in the 48th minute of the match. From a corner kick taken by Dries Mertens, Osimhen's header deflected off PAOK defender Rahman Baba and into the net, bringing the score to 1-0.

PAOK equalized in the 67th minute of the match. In an attack developing from the right wing, Ioannis Konstantelias sent the ball into the net after it rebounded off Günay Güvenç, making the score 1-1.

The yellow-reds found the goal again in the 75th minute. Yunus Akgün struck well from a ball headed down by Victor Osimhen inside the penalty area, making it 2-1.

Galatasaray made it 3-1 with a goal in the 90+5th minute from their Argentine star Mauro Icardi, who came on as a substitute, and began their UEFA Europa League journey with a victory.


In the second week of the UEFA Europa League, Galatasaray will face Latvian side RFS away on Thursday, October 3.

The 24-year-old footballer thus experienced his first goal joy in European competitions in his career. Yunus Akgün also has 1 goal in the Süper Lig this season.
Yunus, who started the match in the starting 11, was replaced by Berkan Kutlu in the 87th minute.
