Berke Özer, who transferred to Fenerbahçe from Altınordu, did not have his contract extended after falling short of expectations at the Yellow-Navy Blues.

It was claimed that Galatasaray was interested in Özer, who has drawn attention with his performance at Eyüpspor this season, but that the Yellow-Reds had abandoned the transfer. The reason cited was the social media posts Berke had made about Galatasaray in the past.

In a recent interview, Özer said "I wish they hadn't happened" regarding his posts, and when asked, "It is known that you are a Fenerbahçe fan. If your club reaches an agreement with Galatasaray, would you agree and guard the Galatasaray goal?" he gave the following response:

"These are obviously not topics for today. I am not thinking about a transfer. I am not just talking about Galatasaray. I am speaking in general. If such a situation arises, if it is the right thing for both the club's interests and for us, and if there are no other transfer situations, we would sit down and talk. We are professionals. We support our families through football. It is our duty to do what is right."
