Mauro Icardi makes a Johnny Depp reference to Wanda Nara

Mauro Icardi, who underwent surgery in Argentina following an injury sustained during the UEFA Europa League match against Tottenham and is spending his rehabilitation process in his home country, continues to send messages to his estranged wife, Wanda Nara, through references to Johnny Depp.

A HISTORIC 3-WEEK TRIAL

The Galatasaray footballer shared images on his social media account, where he has 13 million followers, on December 4th, featuring scenes from the 3-week divorce trial of the American actor and his colleague Amber Heard, who were married between 2015 and 2017, held in the U.S. state of Virginia.

QUOTING DEPP: IT'S NOT ABOUT CLEARING MY NAME

In another Instagram post, the 31-year-old striker added a heart emoji and captioned it with Depp's words: "It's not about clearing my name, it's about defending the people who believe in me."

'A HEART DETERMINED TO FIGHT FOR THE TRUTH'

Mauro Icardi once again referenced the divorce process between Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard with a photo he posted on social media showing the Hollywood star with his fist raised in the air.

The Galatasaray player wrote the following message on his Instagram post: "Nothing is stronger than a heart determined to fight for the truth. It seems we are doing well."

The Argentine striker indicated with his consecutive Depp posts that he believes he will emerge on the winning side of his divorce and custody battle against Wanda Nara, just as Johnny Depp did.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Johnny Depp and his colleague Amber Heard met on the set of the 2011 film 'The Rum Diary' and had a tumultuous divorce after marrying in 2015, which lasted about two years.

Following an article Heard wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 alleging domestic abuse, Depp sued for 50 million dollars in damages. Heard filed a 100 million dollar countersuit. Depp was the party who won the defamation trial in June 2022.

10 MILLION 350 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN DAMAGES

It was decided that Heard should pay 10 million dollars in damages to her ex-husband for defamation and 5 million dollars to cover the actor's losses. However, the 5 million dollar portion was reduced to 350 thousand dollars, which is the cap for such damages in the state of Virginia. The jury decided that Depp should pay 2 million dollars in damages regarding Heard's 100 million dollar countersuit.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, who had filed appeals, put an end to the controversial case in December 2022. An agreement was signed stipulating that 1 million dollars would be paid to Depp by Heard's insurance company.
