Rıdvan Dilmen's championship point prediction

Former footballer and commentator Rıdvan Dilmen analyzed the Eyüpspor match where Fenerbahçe dropped points. Criticizing Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho, Dilmen spoke about the championship race.

'A STYLE OF PLAY UNBEFITTING OF FENERBAHÇE'

Speaking on HT Spor, Dilmen stated, "There is only one coach-led team in Turkey, and that is Okan Buruk's team. Systems are built according to the players. If my manager, who arrived in June, is still displaying this stagnant style of play—a style unbefitting of Fenerbahçe—after 15 league matches and 6-7 European matches, it means he has contributed nothing and has actually taken things backward."

'MOURINHO IS MAKING MISTAKES'

Dilmen said, "Fenerbahçe fans are not satisfied with the football, and neither am I. Mourinho is a classic manager. I see Mourinho as much more than just a manager through his statements and behavior, but I see that he does not reflect this on the pitch. He is making mistakes with his choices. Football is played with good players; the system should be based on the players. If the system is not built around the players, you lose your team."

'NOTHING LEFT OF LAST YEAR'

Rıdvan Dilmen remarked, "İsmail Kartal used to play Fred further forward. He would turn this team into a 4-1-4-1. They weren't playing with a double pivot. There is nothing left of Fred, İrfan Can, or Osayi from last year. The center-backs are the same. The system did this."

'HE HAS DISMANTLED THE TEAM'

The famous football commentator remarked, "I am not saying Amrabat cannot play for Fenerbahçe. The Fenerbahçe fans like him too, but Mourinho has dismantled this team. Actually, he had a very good precedent right in front of him. In a game played 11 against 10, he took out Amrabat and moved Szymanski into Fred's position. This is what I want from Mourinho."

Criticizing the Portuguese coach's game system, Dilmen argued, "Fenerbahçe cannot play with two defensive midfielders with Amrabat. Fred is not there this year; he has disappeared. Fenerbahçe will not be in the championship race with just Amrabat as a playmaker; it will happen with a 4-1-4-1 system."

'88-90 POINTS WILL MAKE YOU CHAMPION'

Rıdvan Dilmen stated, "With almost this same squad, Fenerbahçe was playing one-way football last season, yet they couldn't become champions with 99 points. This season, whoever reaches 90, or even 88, will be the champion. Mourinho thinks these types of situations are normal. For example, he says 'a loss to Beşiktaş can happen,' but it just doesn't."
