Will Icardi's contract be frozen? A statement from Dursun Özbek

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek spoke to A Spor regarding whether Mauro Icardi's contract would be frozen.

Emphasizing how important the Argentine star is for Galatasaray, Özbek said, "It is clear what Mauro Icardi means to Galatasaray. He is a figure who has become an icon in Turkey and at Galatasaray.

Talk of freezing his contract is talk from those who want to undermine Galatasaray. Those who bring this up are that type of person," he said.

Özbek stated that Icardi's surgery took place in Argentina and that he called him afterward, but he did not answer his phone.

Regarding the matter, Özbek said, "He had his surgery in Argentina. I called him after the surgery and he did not answer his phone.

A message came saying he was resting, I will call again. He is a name loved by the entire Galatasaray community and the football public," he stated.

"GALATASARAY IS SO DISLOYAL THAT IT WOULD FREEZE HIS CONTRACT! THERE IS NO SUCH THING!"

Regarding the contract freezing claims, Özbek said, "You rarely come across players like this who have come to Turkey and are loved by everyone.

Icardi is one of them. He contributed to championships and has the love of the children.

Everyone, young and old, loves him for his attitude and his performance on the pitch. Galatasaray is so disloyal that it would freeze his contract! There is no such thing!" he remarked.
