Georgi Dermendjiev: 'A draw is a good result'

Ludogorets manager Georgi Dermendjiev said that a draw would be a good result for them as they prepare to face Fenerbahçe tomorrow in the third week of the UEFA Europa Conference League Group H.

Speaking at the press conference held at Ülker Stadium, the 68-year-old manager began by emphasizing that Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal has built a fantastic team and that their 17-match winning streak is no coincidence.

Speaking about taking charge of the team and facing Fenerbahçe in his first match, Dermendjiev said:

"I am very happy that my first match is against Fenerbahçe. Our team is a very good team. We will see our strength against such a team. Our team also played a very good match against Ajax in the qualifiers. I am aware that tomorrow's match will be very difficult."

Stating that a draw away at Fenerbahçe would satisfy him, the experienced manager said, "A draw will satisfy me. A draw would boost the players' self-confidence. Winning another point in the group stage would be good for us. Because there is still a lot of time left, and we can finish the group in 2nd place."

Dermendjiev, who also said that Ludogorets is a well-designed team and that they want to participate in the Champions League in the future, underlined that they might present a different tactical approach in his first match and continued as follows:

"Fenerbahçe's players are truly very strong. This is evident from Fenerbahçe's leadership. There will be a new design in terms of technique and tactics; I hope we will be successful."
