German coach Peter Neururer on Leroy Sane: I don't think he will return to the national team
German coach Peter Neururer stated that he sees the possibility of Galatasaray's Leroy Sane returning to the German national team as low.
A notable assessment has come from Germany regarding the future of Galatasaray player Leroy Sane in the German national team. German coach Peter Neururer, in his comments on the upcoming era under Jürgen Klopp, stated that he does not expect Sane to return to the squad.
Neururer noted that, along with Sane, the possibility of Leon Goretzka returning to the national team is also low. The experienced coach emphasized that Klopp will make his player selections based on performance criteria.
''Klopp will act according to the performance principle. I like this player, these types of players. He can play at the same level as Messi, but when was the last time he showed that? I don't think he can display a consistent enough performance at Galatasaray for Jürgen Klopp to give him another chance. Unfortunately, his time has passed and I don't think he will return.''
30-year-old Leroy Sane has appeared in 80 matches for the German national team and scored 18 goals. Sane also played for Germany in the 2026 World Cup.
