Giovanni van Bronckhorst bids farewell to Beşiktaş
Dutch manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has bid farewell to the Black and Whites by releasing a statement on his social media account.
Dutch manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who has parted ways with Beşiktaş, has released a farewell message to the Black and White club.
In a post on his Instagram account, Van Bronckhorst stated, "While I am sad and disappointed to be leaving shortly after becoming the manager of Beşiktaş, it was important to have many positive experiences while working in Turkey.
As in my previous jobs, I approached this one with passion and a desire to succeed because the club's potential excited me greatly. The Turkish people, and especially the Beşiktaş fans, welcomed me very well and made me feel like one of their own. Turkey is a country with a rich culture where the passion for football is clearly visible to everyone. I will always be grateful for this," he said.
"IF I HAD BEEN GIVEN MORE TIME..."
Noting that the passion of the fans and the desire of the players were magnificent, Van Bronckhorst expressed his views by saying, "The feeling I had after winning the Turkcell Super Cup ranks alongside my most cherished football achievements. It was gratifying for Beşiktaş to win this trophy for the first time in nearly 20 years. I must appreciate the hard work of my players and my technical staff. I believe that if I had been given more time, I could have developed and strengthened a squad with great potential. Please keep working, you are a wonderful group."
"IT IS HARD TO ACCEPT THIS"
Pointing out that football is a results-driven business, the Dutch coach made the following assessment:
"This is never something I will hide; winning is everything, and when it doesn't happen, it is hard to accept. However, the future of a football club is not determined solely by one person on the bench. Even if it was for a short time, I fell in love with the club, the city, and the country. I wish everyone at Beşiktaş success in the period ahead. Finally, I offer my thanks and love to my wonderful family and close friends who have always been by my side and never withheld their support. I look forward to my next challenge when the time comes."
