Goal difference crisis in the Women's Super League: Fomget's response to Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe Club announced that it has filed an official complaint with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) regarding the recent match results of ABB Fomget, with whom they are competing for the title in the Turkcell Women's Football Super League. 

The yellow-navy club pointed specifically to ABB Fomget's 12-1 victory over Bornova Hitab Spor, arguing that the results obtained by their rival—who gained a 27-goal difference in the last 4 weeks—are "contrary to the ordinary flow of life."

Following this move by Fenerbahçe, a swift response came from the ABB Fomget camp. 

Fomget's statement, titled 'We are clean', is as follows;

We are Clean!

Today, just as we did yesterday, we won on the pitch with our sweat and our labor. Our answer to the slanders cast upon our rightful victories is our clean struggle on the pitch. Our answer to those who try to cover up their own failures with slander is again on the pitch. Tomorrow, we will continue to walk with our labor and our sweat. Throughout the season, while we achieved a +47 goal difference against the clubs Çekmeköy Bilgi Doğa, Ünye Kadın FK, and Bornova Hitab, our rival achieved a +42 goal difference from the same matches. The statistics, the labor, and the sweat on the pitch are clear. The Çekmeköy Bilgi Doğa club, which they keep mentioning, conceded 15 goals to Ünye Kadın FK and 17 goals to Trabzonspor after playing against us. We will not allow anyone to cast a shadow over our victories.

As we approach the final weeks of the 2024-2025 Turkcell Women's Football Super League season, unusual results that directly affect the championship race have drawn attention.

Entering the 22nd week of the Turkcell Women's Football Super League, where the champion will be determined after a total of 26 weeks, our Fenerbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women's Football Team held the lead in overall goal difference by 22 goals, despite having the same points and head-to-head record (55) as ABB Fomget.

(Fenerbahçe: +69 goal difference, ABB Fomget: +47 goal difference)

However, as a result of the matches played within the last four weeks, while both teams still have the same points (67), ABB Fomget has gained a 27-goal advantage, moving ahead of our team with a +5 goal difference.

(ABB Fomget: +79 goal difference, Fenerbahçe: +74 goal difference)

The results of the matches played by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Fomget Youth and Sports Club,

• The match played on March 27, 2025, against Çekmeköy Bilgi Doğa Sports Club, which ended 19-0,

• The match won with a score of 12-1 against Bornova Hitab Sports Club on April 27, 2025, are contrary to the ordinary flow of life and have raised questions in the public eye.

Furthermore, the fact that ABB Fomget, which broadcasts league matches live on its official YouTube channel throughout the season, did not broadcast the Bornova Hitab Spor match, has also stood out as a remarkable situation.

In light of all these events, the situation must be evaluated by the relevant institutions in terms of the principles of justice and transparency in football.

As the Fenerbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women's Football Team, an application has been made to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) regarding the relevant matches. In the application made by our club, it has been requested that the relevant TFF boards immediately initiate an investigation, refer the matter to the Ethics Committee, conduct the process transparently, and apply the necessary disciplinary sanctions if deemed appropriate.

We respectfully inform the public that we will be following the developments in order to protect the sweat shed by our team throughout the season.
