Facing his Jamaican opponent Ashley McKenzie in the round of 16, Salih Yıldız won the match with waza-ari points, securing his place in the quarter-finals. Salih Yıldız then defeated Giorgi Sardalashvili from Georgia with a waza-ari in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals. Salih Yıldız will compete for a spot in the final around 18:00.
