Göztepe Sporting Director Ivan Mance criticizes referees!
Ivan Mance, the sporting director of Trendyol 1st League side Göztepe, has made a statement regarding refereeing errors.
Ivan Mance, the sporting director of Trendyol 1st League side Göztepe, stated that he has seen many "suspicious decisions" made against them in matches and that he does not characterize these as "simple mistakes."
In a written statement, Ivan Mance noted that the team is generally improving every week and that they are continuing their efforts to reach the Süper Lig.
Emphasizing that he tries to avoid commenting on referees and believes it should be accepted that referees, like everyone else, can make mistakes, Mance stated the following:
"However, I am concerned because I think Göztepe is not being shown respect. I want to make our criticisms after winning, otherwise, it can be seen as an excuse for losing. In the first 8 matches, we have seen many suspicious decisions against us, which I do not view as simple mistakes. Göztepe, which has succeeded in bringing the first foreign investor to Turkish football, needs fair officiating just like every other club. Göztepe is one of the largest civil society organizations in Turkey and has wonderful fans who deserve respect for their club. Whenever there is a need to help with anything in the country, our fans are among the first to mobilize, regardless of the cost. For this reason, in return, we only want respect to be shown to our club and our fans. We do not want protection; we just want a fair attitude toward Göztepe and for us to be shown respect."
