Guardiola speaks after Copenhagen victory: 'Ask Galatasaray how hard it is to beat Copenhagen'
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola cited Galatasaray as an example following their 3-1 away win against Copenhagen in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Manchester City defeated Copenhagen 3-1 away from home. City manager Pep Guardiola evaluated the match after the Copenhagen game by referencing Galatasaray.
THEY THINK IT'S EASY BUT IT IS NOT
Emphasizing that beating Copenhagen is quite difficult, Guardiola said, "Copenhagen is a really tough team. People say it's easy to beat Copenhagen, but it's not. Ask Galatasaray, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United how difficult an opponent Copenhagen is. Copenhagen is a really good opponent. We played really good football. My job is to warn the players and tell them what we need. My players felt this and showed it. We played with the right character and patience. Everyone was at the top level. If you don't show the right game, the right character, and the right patience, you cannot reach the Round of 16 in the Champions League. I hope we get the result we want in the second leg and reach the quarter-finals."
SECOND LEG ON MARCH 6
Manchester City and Copenhagen will face each other in the second leg in England on March 6 at 23:00, and the winning team will secure their place in the quarter-finals.
