Hakan Dolutaş: 'Caner Erkin threw a punch'

In the 25th week match of the First League, Bodrumspor was defeated 1-0 by visiting Eyüpspor.

Speaking at the press conference held after the match, Bodrum FK Assistant Coach Hakan Dolutaş said, "It was a tense match. It was a balanced match in the first half; we couldn't make sense of the referee's decision regarding coach İsmet. This is a scandalous decision; coach İsmet didn't say anything, he just addressed the referee by his name. The referee showed a yellow card first, followed by a red card. We fell 1-0 behind in a first half that was neck-and-neck. We started the second half dominantly, and our pressure increased after the opponent was reduced to ten men. However, we couldn't convert it into many chances. Our pressure continued until the end of the match; I can only say that a goal was missing. There is just a defeat that has been taken, and we are already at a strength and level to compensate for this defeat in the upcoming matches. I congratulate our players. They showed an incredible struggle. They had incredible desire. They were up against a team built with very serious figures. Despite that, they did everything they could; a goal was missing. We will do our best to compensate for this defeat. We have had a nice and sweet rivalry with Eyüpspor since last year," he said. 

Speaking about the referees and the events that took place at the end of the match during the press conference, Dolutaş claimed that Caner Erkin punched Kenan. Dolutaş spoke as follows:

"However, we couldn't understand the referee at all; believe me, coach İsmet didn't deserve it at all. He only addressed him by his name; the fourth official said, 'I didn't understand it either.' I mean, the fourth official is right there, friends. Not even the word 'damn' came out of our mouths. He sent him off for no reason; we didn't understand. One should ask him. Caner slapped Kenan. VAR didn't intervene, and the referee didn't see it. Kenan doesn't rebel easily and tells the truth. The referee made serious mistakes against us."
