In the fifth week of the Süper Lig, Galatasaray defeated Eyüpspor 2-0 away from home, continuing its successful performance in the league.
Following the match, sports commentator Volkan Demirel made striking remarks about Galatasaray's star player Sane.
Stating that he does not believe Sane is a player suited for the Süper Lig, Demirel said, "In my opinion, Sane is not a player suited for the Süper Lig. Don't be fooled, they won't let a man move comfortably in Turkey. He is a player who tries to show off his skills with the ball rather than getting the job done. Demirel expressed that Sane is not physically sufficient and that his style of play might struggle in Turkey. He concluded his remarks by saying, "Once you get a bit physical... I think Sane is a bit of a soft player. If he finds space, he goes; if he can't find space, it's difficult. I don't think he is fully there physically right now."
