Has Şenol Güneş left Trabzonspor? Did he resign?
Will Şenol Güneş leave Trabzonspor? An official statement has been released.
Crisis at Trabzonspor! The Trabzonspor management and head coach Şenol Güneş decided to hold a meeting following the recent results. Şenol Güneş did not attend the 16:00 training session.
Statement from Trabzonspor
Trabzonspor announced in an official statement that Şenol Güneş's tenure as head coach has been terminated:
"At the beginning of the season, an agreement was reached with Mr. Şenol Güneş not only for the head coaching position but also to utilize his knowledge and experience to generate projects, manage the youth academy and A-Team processes, build the Trabzonspor of the future, and assume responsibility in areas such as facilities and investments. In this direction, a collaboration aiming to establish a strong institutional structure was planned.
However, the failure to achieve the desired results in the league has deeply saddened our community and necessitated a change in the head coaching position.
Work to determine the new head coach has begun, and the necessary information will be provided to the public once the process is complete."
"When I make a decision about myself, I make a decision that protects the club"
Following the defeat against Hatayspor, when asked about his resignation, Şenol Güneş replied, "When I make a decision about myself, I do not make a decision that protects myself; I make a decision that protects the club. If that will make the fans happy, I will take it, so it is not a problem."
Şenol Güneş continued his words as follows:
"We apologize to the fans. First of all, it happened to us that such a match happened to them. It has saddened them negatively that we responded to them with such a result. As I said, the players are the ones on duty, and I am the one with the authority and responsibility. I grant them the right to say this to me. Being sad does not change anything. To make decisions about such matters, we talk to the president and the management. Whatever the most correct decision is for Trabzonspor, that is what will be made; we will make it, so we don't have such a problem. But let me say this: since I arrived, the president and the management have shown every effort they could. I don't think any player is a problem caused by the management. In terms of the squad, I think we can get better results with this squad, and I already thought so."

6 draws and 9 defeats in 23 matches
Trabzonspor is experiencing its 5th Şenol Güneş era. The Burgundy-Blues finished the last 2 weeks without points, losing 1-0 away to Konyaspor and 2-1 at home to Atakaş Hatayspor.
The Black Sea team, under the management of head coach Şenol Güneş, who was brought in after the draws in the first 2 weeks of the league, collected 30 points in 23 matches with 8 wins, 6 draws, and 9 defeats, remaining at a 1.30 points average.
