Hasan Arat addresses Beşiktaş fans! 'We know how to get back on our feet'

Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat made statements at the club's divan board meeting. 

Here are Hasan Arat's statements...

"Our club underwent a test of democracy on December 3rd and emerged from this test with its head held high. With the election, Beşiktaş has entered a process of maintenance and repair. We will take very solid steps toward development and institutionalization.

On December 3rd, we experienced the election with the highest voter turnout in our history. Nearly 2,000 of our members could not vote due to the crowd. This election was the last one at Akatlar; it is over now. From now on, Divan Board meetings will be held in the most decent environment, just as it is today.

Beşiktaş showed its greatness to all of Turkey during the election. Chants were made for both candidates. From now on, we will do our best to move Beşiktaş forward. We have 6 divan members in our administration. We have nearly 4,000 divan members, and today there are 319 people in attendance. This should not be; it needs to increase.

We will be transparent. All rental contracts, all agreements, whatever there is, everything will be given to the Audit Committee. It has been 11 days since we received our mandate. I doubt any board of directors in Turkey has appeared before the divan within 11 days. There was no handover in our club after the election; this is not a good thing. Beşiktaş is a 120-year-old club. Our friends who come after us should pay attention to this; it damages the club.

Beşiktaş will return to its own culture both on the field and in management. For the first time in our history, after the derby match, we opened all sales information to our fans. We will continue this decision, which received full marks from our community.

'THE DECISION TO EXCLUDE FROM THE SQUAD WAS VERY EFFECTIVE'

The decision to exclude players from the squad was very effective. The players subject to the decision have spoken with us and stated that they will do what is necessary. I believe they will meet the requirements of being a player for the great Beşiktaş community. All efforts are underway to make the necessary reinforcements during the mid-season transfer window.

We watched the attack on Halil Umut Meler with great sadness. Remember, Josef de Souza received a penalty while trying to save his teammate from a fan attack. Unfortunately, the warnings Josef made that day have come true.

As the board of directors, we will continue our youth infrastructure policies. We watched our youngsters' performance against Lugano with great pride.

I invite all Beşiktaş fans to our Anıtkabir visit. We will appear in the presence of the greatest Beşiktaş fan.
