Hatayspor Manager Volkan Demirel on 'resignation'! 'The fault is all mine...'
Hatayspor Manager Volkan Demirel responded to the question 'Are you considering resigning?' following the 2-1 defeat to Beşiktaş.
In the 18th week of the Süper Lig, Beşiktaş defeated Hatayspor 2-1 away from home. The burgundy-and-whites have only managed to beat Galatasaray in their last 9 league matches.
Following the poor results in recent times, which have seen the point gap to the relegation zone shrink to 2, Hatayspor Manager Volkan Demirel made statements to the broadcaster.
"THE FAULT IS ALL MINE"
Responding to the question 'Are you considering resigning?', Demirel used the expressions, 'The fault is all mine; I will think about it, I will talk, we will see'.
Demirel's statements after the match are as follows;
"I am solely responsible for the defeat. We played very poorly in the Kayserispor match we played at home, and in this match as well. I am responsible for this. There is a lot I want to say. I am the one who built this team. There isn't much more to say on my behalf. Actually, I want to talk, but... I also congratulate Beşiktaş. They are one of the important teams of this country, they should always be respected. Being a big team is something else. I said we need to show a lot of respect. Perhaps the holiday they are looking forward to... caused a lack of concentration in the match. I am the one who does everything in this team, who brought these players. There is a lot to say, but I cannot say it. I hope I can say it in the coming days. I will think about it, I will talk, we will see. We will talk to the players; we will look at what we are doing better and what we are not doing. The fault is all mine. As I said, we will see."
