Following Fenerbahçe's loss of the championship title last season, a decision was made to make changes to the squad, and paths were temporarily parted with Dominik Livakovic. Initially loaned to the Spanish side Girona, Livakovic failed to find the playing time he expected there and moved to Dinamo Zagreb, one of his home country's prominent clubs, during the mid-season break.
The Croatian goalkeeper has become one of his team's biggest assets in the title race, managing to keep a clean sheet in 5 of the 11 league matches he has played for Dinamo Zagreb. With this impressive performance, Livakovic has also managed to get on the radar of other European clubs.
Fenerbahçe's decision to entrust the goal to the Brazilian Ederson following Livakovic's departure has led to differing opinions within the community. While Ederson's performance and attitude in the team, especially in recent weeks, have sparked debates among the yellow-navy fans, the star goalkeeper's high annual salary of 11 million euros has also emerged as a difficulty in the transfer.
According to reports in the Croatian media outlet Vecernji list, Serie A clubs Genoa and Torino have submitted offers of 5 million euros each to Fenerbahçe for Livakovic. It is also stated that these clubs are prepared to offer the Croatian goalkeeper an annual salary of approximately 2 million euros.
