He left his mark on the match with his saves: Mert Günok criticizes his teammates after the derby!
Beşiktaş's experienced goalkeeper Mert Günok criticized his teammates in his post-match comments following the 3-1 loss to Fenerbahçe.
In the 15th week of the Süper Lig, Beşiktaş hosted Fenerbahçe at home.
Fenerbahçe emerged victorious 3-1 from the match, which ended 1-1 at halftime. Fenerbahçe's goals were scored by Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic, and Sebastian Szymanski, while Beşiktaş's only goal came from Chamberlain.
Beşiktaş's experienced goalkeeper Mert Günok, who left his mark on the match with his saves, criticized his teammates in an interview with the broadcaster beINSports after the game.
"MORE COULD BE SAID, BUT..."
Mert Günok stated, "Our game has not been improving lately. Even in the matches we won, we struggled to secure the victory. There is a lot to be said, but to put it as minimally as possible, we need to take individual responsibility. Many players need to take this responsibility on the pitch. Actually, more could be said, but I will settle for this for now."
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who scored the only goal for Beşiktaş in the match, said, "We have to be honest tonight. Fenerbahçe played with more quality than us. You need quality to create opportunities in the final third. We couldn't create that quality. We were not good."
