Fenerbahçe decided to take the field with its U19 team for the Super Cup match against Galatasaray.

While Galatasaray took a 1-0 lead in the 50th second of the match with a goal by Icardi, the Fenerbahçe management withdrew the team from the pitch, effectively withdrawing from the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) match.

Following the abandonment of the match, Galatasaray players celebrated on the pitch.

UĞUR DÜNDAR REACTS TO GALATASARAY PLAYERS

Fenerbahçe High Council President Uğur Dündar reacted to the celebrations of the Galatasaray players in a post on his personal X (Twitter) account.

Recalling the Yellow-Reds' legendary captain Metin Oktay, Dündar commented: "If the 'Uncrowned King' Metin Oktay were alive and captaining the team last night, instead of sending that ball that came to his feet in the first minute into the net, he would have kicked it out! He would have prevented his teammates from engaging in childish celebrations."

Uğur Dündar's post is as follows;

"If the 'Uncrowned King' Metin Oktay, who has a place in the hearts of all football fans, were alive and captaining the team last night, instead of sending that ball that came to his feet in the first minute into the net, he would have kicked it out!

Furthermore, he would have prevented his teammates from engaging in childish celebrations as if they had won the cup after a tough match, and would have accepted it with maturity.

Because he would have known that the action taken by the Fenerbahçe players was not just for their own club, but an action taken against the injustice of the TFF on behalf of all clubs.

Well, one isn't called the 'Uncrowned King' for no reason!

The TFF, under the leadership of Mehmet Büyükekşi, rejected the Yellow-Navy club's request. Upon this, Fenerbahçe decided to take the field for the Super Cup match with its U19 team.
