Competing in the swimming events at the Paris La Defense Arena, Umut raced in the 200m freestyle S3 final.
Finishing the race with a time of 3:19.53, Umut Ünlü managed to win the gold medal in the 200m freestyle following his victory in the 50m freestyle race yesterday.
The silver medal went to Denys Ostapchenko from Ukraine with a time of 3:19.76, while the bronze medal was secured by Serhii Palamarchuk, also from Ukraine, with a time of 3:33.04.
HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT
Umut, who was the final athlete to compete for Turkey at Paris 2024, made history with the 2 gold medals he won.
The 23-year-old national athlete became the first and only national athlete in the history of the Paralympic Games to win 2 gold medals in the same event for Turkey.
