Following the 1-1 draw in the cup match between Sport Recife and Fortaleza in Brazil, a bomb attack was carried out on the Fortaleza team bus. Six players from the visiting team were injured in the attack.
A scandalous incident occurred following a football match in Brazil. According to a report by Sporx, the South American country's two teams, Sport Recife and Fortaleza, faced each other in a cup match. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
It was reported that Sport Recife fans attacked the Fortaleza team bus after the match.
6 PLAYERS INJURED
Six Fortaleza players were injured in the bus bombing and were taken to the hospital. The injured players include goalkeeper Joao Ricardo, left-back Gonzalo Escobar, right-back Dudu, defenders Titi and Britez, and midfielder Lucas Sasha.
Fortaleza President Marcelo Paz shared footage of the moment of the attack on his social media account. Stating that they would not play any matches until the perpetrators are found, Paz also included images of his players in the hospital.
In a statement following the incident, the club president said, "Joao Ricardo has six stitches in his head. Escobar has 13 stitches. I am in favor of Fortaleza not playing any matches until the players recover and those responsible are punished. This was an attempted murder."
