Hull City signs Konstantinos Tzolakis for a club-record transfer fee

English Championship side Hull City has announced the signing of Greece national team goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis. The club, owned by Acun Ilıcalı, paid a transfer fee of 23 million Euros to Olympiacos for the 23-year-old shot-stopper, marking the most expensive transfer in the club's history.

Tzolakis, who signed a 5-year contract with Hull City valid until the summer of 2031, stated in an interview with the club's channel following the transfer that he is ready to open a new chapter in his career with his new team.

''I am very happy to be here. Joining Hull City is a great honor for me. I am ready to open a new chapter in my career.''

The Greek goalkeeper noted that he has met his teammates and the technical staff at the training camp in Turkey and thanked them for the warm welcome he received.

Starting his career in the Platanias youth academy, Tzolakis later moved to the Olympiacos youth system and made his first-team debut in March 2020. The young goalkeeper, who played 131 official matches in his Olympiacos career, kept a clean sheet in 64 of those games.

Tzolakis won four Greek Super League titles with Olympiacos, as well as the Greek Cup and the Greek Super Cup. The successful goalkeeper was also part of the squad that lifted the UEFA Conference League trophy in the 2023/24 season.
