Injury statement from Galatasaray's Jakobs
Galatasaray's Senegalese left-back Jakobs has clarified claims regarding his injury. Jakobs stated, "I don't have any injuries, and the rumors that I will undergo surgery are not true."
Senegal defeated Malawi 4-0 at the "Senegal Abdoulaye Wade" stadium as part of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Jakobs, who played the full 90 minutes in the match, expressed his happiness about joining Galatasaray in his post-match statement, saying, 'Our goal in the new season is, of course, to be champions and to go as far as we can in the European cup. We are doing very well so far.'
he said.
"Although the draws in our last two matches are a bit disappointing, we are still the league leaders." Jakobs said, expressing that there is no situation to complain about at this stage.
"GALATASARAY IS BOTH INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED AND A BIG TEAM"
Born and raised in Cologne, Germany, Jakobs noted that he had many Turkish friends there, stating, 'I feel very comfortable here. Even though I am not used to playing in Turkey, I am used to being around Turkish people. I had many Turkish friends who were both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe fans. Naturally, some were happy about my transfer, while others were sad.' he said.
Jakobs also responded to a question about how his choice of Turkey after the German and French leagues was received, saying 'I don't think coming to Turkey has been negative for my career. Galatasaray is both internationally recognized and a big team. I am very happy.' he said.
Regarding the reports about his injury, Jakobs said, 'I don't have any injuries, and the rumors that I will undergo surgery are not true. I am doing very well.' he stated.
