Internal transfer at Manchester United: Contract extended with star player
Manchester United has signed a new contract with young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo that will run until June 2031.
Manchester United, one of the historic clubs of the English Premier League, has reached a new agreement to keep its rising star Kobbie Mainoo in the squad for many years to come. The club announced the new contract with the 21-year-old midfielder on its social media accounts with the statement, “One of our own. Kobbie Mainoo is here to stay.”
Mainoo, a Ghanaian-British footballer, has become a key figure for his team, appearing in 24 matches in the Premier League this season. Additionally, Mainoo has earned 12 caps for the England national team.
Mainoo, who draws attention with his energy and game intelligence in midfield, is expected to be included in England's squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
