Investigation had been launched: Trustee appointed to the Turkish Sports Writers Association (TSYD)

An investigation had been launched following allegations that members who traveled from Anatolia to Istanbul to vote in the TSYD's Ordinary Elective General Assembly held in May were invited irregularly.

According to the report on Halk TV, a trustee has been appointed to the association.

In the Turkish Sports Writers Association Ordinary Elective General Assembly, the incumbent president Oğuz Tongsir was re-elected president after receiving 499 votes.

In the General Assembly held in Istanbul, Tongsir's rival İsmail Er remained at 196 votes. The Ministry of Interior had launched an investigation following allegations voiced on social media by a group that lost the election.

İSMAİL ER: THE PRESIDENT HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM OFFICE

İsmail Er, who was Oğuz Tongsir's rival in the Elective General Assembly, claimed in a post on his social media account: "The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior followed the unfortunate and bad incident that happened to working sports writers who were not allowed into TSYD facilities because their wives wore headscarves, and decided that there was irregularity and unlawful behavior, removing the president from office."
