It has been claimed that Orkun Kökçü, who was sidelined at Benfica due to comments he made, has rejected an offer from Beşiktaş.
Orkun Kökçü, the national footballer who grew up in the Feyenoord youth academy and transferred to Benfica for a fee of 25 million euros, was sidelined by head coach Roger Schmidt following an interview he gave to the Dutch press.
After joining the national team, Kökçü made a statement announcing that he would speak with the head coach and club officials upon his return from the camp. Beşiktaş has expressed interest in the player, who was sidelined by his club.
According to a report by NTV Spor citing the newspaper Record, Beşiktaş made an attempt to sign Orkun Kökçü.
The national footballer, however, rejected the offer from the black-and-whites.
