Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner withdraws from tournament due to fatigue

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has announced his withdrawal from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) 1000 series tournament, the Paris Masters.

World number 4 Sinner, who won his second-round match against American Mackenzie McDonald and left the court at 02:37 local time, cited fatigue as the reason for his withdrawal from the tournament.

The 22-year-old athlete stated, "I finished the match at almost three in the morning and didn't sleep until a few hours later. I had less than 12 hours to rest and prepare for the next match. I have to make the right decision for my health and my body."

The first-round match between Dominic Thiem and Stan Wawrinka also finished at 02:22 in the morning.
