Italy: 2 - Albania: 1
In Group B of the European Football Championship (EURO 2024), Italy defeated Albania 2-1 in their opening match.
In the first week of the European Football Championship held in Germany, Italy and Albania faced off at Dortmund Stadium in Group B.
In the match officiated by German referee Felix Zwayer, Albania found the goal in the 23rd second. Following a mistake by the Italian defense, Nedim Bajrami met the ball on the right side of the penalty area and his powerful shot found the back of the net.

Shaking off the shock of the goal quickly, Italy equalized in the 11th minute through Alessandro Bastoni. With Nicolo Barella's goal in the 16th minute, Italy took a 2-1 lead, and the first half ended with this score. As both teams' attacks remained fruitless in the second half, the match concluded with Italy's 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Beşiktaş's Albanian player Muçi entered the game in the 87th minute, replacing Bajrami.

BAJRAMI MAKES TOURNAMENT HISTORY
In the 2024 European Football Championship, Nedim Bajrami's goal for Albania against Italy became the fastest goal ever scored in tournament history.

Capitalizing on a defensive error during a throw-in taken by Dimarco in the 23rd second, Nedim Bajrami put Albania 1-0 ahead, marking the fastest goal scored in the history of the European Football Championship.
