Ivan Rakitic transfers to Saudi Arabia
Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who played for La Liga side Sevilla, has transferred to the Saudi Arabian team Al-Shabab.
Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab has added Croatian footballer Ivan Rakitic from the Spanish team Sevilla to its squad.
Sevilla FC announced that an agreement has been reached with Al-Shabab for the transfer of the 35-year-old midfielder Rakitic.
Rakitic, who has played 106 times for the Croatian National Team and scored 15 goals, has played for Basel, Schalke 04, and Barcelona throughout his career, in addition to Sevilla.
Rakitic made 323 appearances, scored 51 goals, and provided 63 assists for Sevilla, where he played in two separate stints between 2011-2014 and 2020-2024.
Al-Shabab, which sits in 11th place in the Saudi Pro League with 21 points, features former Atletico Madrid player Yannick Carrasco in its squad.
