Jasikevicius: I am proud of my players who brought us here!

In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four semifinal match, our representative Fenerbahçe Beko was defeated by Panathinaikos in Berlin and failed to reach the final.

The yellow-navy team's head coach Saras Jasikevicius spoke to the media after the match.

Coach Jasikevicius' post-game comments are as follows:

“I think we didn't play our own game much throughout the match. I congratulate Panathinaikos. We couldn't move the ball well. And when we did, we couldn't find the shots. The beginning of the match was very difficult for us. I am proud of my players who brought us here. But we couldn't display our best game today.”

Continuing to interpret the game, the experienced coach said, ''It reminded me of the 4th game we played against Monaco this evening. We couldn't move the ball quickly, we dribbled too much. We didn't know how to take advantage of the changes the opponent made. Nigel Hayes-Davies should have been more active in the switch part. We didn't do our own job'' he stated.

''I DON'T CARE ABOUT NEXT SEASON''

Stating that he does not care about next season, Sarunas Jasikevicius said, ''I knew beforehand that Fenerbahçe could reach the Final Four and win the cup. It is a tragedy that we lost. Every time you come here, you are two games away from the championship. We were very close again. We have to look at ourselves, we didn't take the court in our best form. I don't care about next season. The most important thing is 'now'. Of course, we want to improve, this will happen. We had a great opportunity in our hands, but we couldn't evaluate it. The season has ended for us'' he expressed.

Sarunas Jasikevicius concluded his speech with these words: ''What should I learn this year? We needed to score one more point than the opponent. But we didn't. The delay affected both teams.
