Jordan and South Korea have advanced to the semi-finals of the Asian Cup, hosted by Qatar.

Two matches were played in the quarter-final round of the tournament, which is being held for the 18th time this year by the Asian Football Confederation.

Jordan defeated Tajikistan 1-0 with an own goal by Vakhdat Khanonov in the 66th minute, reaching the semi-finals of the tournament for the first time in their history.

In another quarter-final match, Australia faced South Korea. Although Australia took a 1-0 lead with a goal by Craig Goodwin in the 42nd minute, South Korea equalized after Hwang Hee-Chan scored from a penalty in the 90+6th minute, sending the match into extra time.

Son Heung-Min put South Korea ahead 2-1 in the 104th minute, while Australia's Aiden Connor O'Neill was shown a red card in the 105+4th minute. With no further goals scored, South Korea defeated Australia 2-1 to secure their place in the semi-finals.
