Kazakhstan's Kairat makes history in the Champions League
Kazakhstan representative Kairat secured their first-ever qualification for the tournament after defeating Celtic 3-2 on penalties in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
In the play-off round of European football's most important club-level tournament, Kairat hosted Scottish side Celtic in the second leg, following a goalless draw in the first match.
With the match ending 0-0 after regular time and extra time, Kairat defeated their opponent 3-2 on penalties to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
Kairat goalkeeper Temirlan Anarbekov played a crucial role in his team's success by saving 3 penalty kicks.
