In a statement made about a month after Guatieri's accusations, Keita Balde admitted to the illicit affair, saying, "I made the biggest mistake of my life. I am not blaming Wanda Nara; the responsibility is entirely mine. The mistake is mine. The events between Icardi and Wanda are matters that have nothing to do with me. I am not blaming them, but the way they brought this situation to light was quite heartless. I feel terrible about the mistake I made. Simona is the only woman I will love for the rest of my life."
