Kemal Ulusu speaks out on the Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match

Süper Lig’in 30.haftasında oynanan ve Fenerbahçe’nin Trabzonspor’u 3-2 mağlup ettiği maçın ardından Trabzonspor taraftarları, Fenerbahçeli futbolculara saldırmıştı. Gergin geçen derbinin ardından eski TFF Başkanı Mustafa Kemal Ulusu, maçta yaşanan olayları 12punto’ya anlattı. 

THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM IN THE MATCH IS SECURITY 

Emphasizing that there was a serious security failure in the Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match, Mustafa Kemal Ulusu said the following: 

‘’For me, the primary problem is the security weakness. During my term, we would personally request the governor or the police chief of that city to take the most serious precautions. In fact, when I was in office, I would personally go to the police department or the Ministry of Interior to request security measures for very important matches.’’

NOT A SINGLE POLICE OFFICER ON THE FIELD 

Noting that the primary responsibility for the incident-filled Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match lies with the Trabzon Governor's Office and the Police Department rather than the TFF, Mustafa Kemal Ulusu said: ‘’In this incident, we need to talk about the Trabzon Governor's Office and the Police Chief rather than the TFF in the first degree. I was astonished that the Governor's Office did not take any precautions for such a match. For example, I watched the footage. There is not even a single police officer at the match. The security guards there are absolutely not taken into account by the fanatics who enter the field. They see the security guards as ordinary citizens. Because they do not have an official duty either. Therefore, it could have been different if there had been a police officer there. Because our people have a different sensitivity towards the police. It was very obvious that this would be an incident-filled match. After these events, the TFF is being blamed. I do not share the same opinion. I am sure that the TFF made its application to the Trabzon Governor's Office. 

As a Federation President, I expect our Minister of Interior to dwell on this issue with importance. In other words, all the blame in this incident was thrown at the TFF. We also served as TFF president in our time. I think the Governor's Office, which did not ensure the public order of the event, is responsible before the Federation president,’’ he said. 

NOT A SINGLE STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

Stating that not a single statement has come from the Trabzon Governor's Office, which holds the primary responsibility for the incident, and that the media in Turkey has not asked any questions about the Governor's Office, Ulusu said, ''There is no statement from the Trabzon Governor's Office. I am following the process on television, and there is no one touching on this issue. No one in the media is asking the Trabzon Governor's Office a question about these events. First and foremost, the Trabzonspor Club President should ask. Now the Trabzonspor Club President is under accusation. Why, because the fan who jumped onto the field is a fan of that club,’’ he said. 

IS THERE NO OTHER REFEREE THAN HALİL UMUT MELER?

Speaking about Halil Umut Meler, who officiated the tense derby, Mustafa Kemal Ulusu said the following: 

‘’There are also those who talk about the match through the referee. But if you look, we have no other referee who could be appointed to this match other than Halil Umut Meler. We need to think about this too. I mean, why is this brother of ours officiating that match even though he has received such big blows? This means there is a problem there too. Of course, I think the MHK (Central Referee Committee) President should answer the issue rather than the TFF President. I mean, we have other FIFA-badged referees. Why wasn't this match given to them? This means there are also problems in the referee community. I mean, Halil Umut Meler has been harmed both mentally and physically in recent times. Halil Umut Meler faced death on the field.’’

 THE SECOND RESPONSIBLE PARTY IS THE TRABZON PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF YOUTH AND SPORTS

Mustafa Kemal Ulusu emphasized that the second responsible party for the incident-filled Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match is the Trabzon Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, saying, ‘’I think the second primary responsible party for the events is the Trabzon Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. As far as I can see, everyone entered the field. There are also foreign objects thrown onto the field in the same way. I expect the Trabzon Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Trabzon Governor to provide information about these issues. And no one has any questions about the Trabzon Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports regarding this. Because the sports media has no information about the subject. Ultimately, the sports media is also on the media side of the business,’’ he said. 

A DECISION TO WITHDRAW FROM THE LEAGUE WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY 

Finally, evaluating the Extraordinary General Assembly of Fenerbahçe, which will meet on April 2 and where the withdrawal from the league will also be discussed, Mustafa Kemal Ulusu said, ''Fenerbahçe can withdraw from the league. The Fenerbahçe Club President gathers the general assembly and asks about the situation of withdrawing from the league. If the members decide to withdraw from the league, they will withdraw. No one can interfere in Fenerbahçe's internal affairs. If you notice, the congress is gathering. A decision will not be made as the management.

 So what happens? They don't show up for 2 matches, they are considered defeated by default. As a result of this, they are relegated to a lower league as a penalty. But I personally do not think that this issue will be discussed thoroughly at the General Assembly and that such a decision will come out. Because this seems like a decision made in a bit of a hurry. Because there are 30-40 million Fenerbahçe fans behind it,’’ he expressed.
