Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who left Galatasaray at the beginning of the season to join Benfica, one of the historic clubs of the Portuguese league, and has been winning acclaim for his performance, responded on social media to criticism directed at him by a Galatasaray fan.
In his response on social media, the national football player criticized the fan's post and used the following expressions:
"I would also like to ask you a question: What kind of criticism culture is it that even at a moment when Galatasaray is at its most successful, the first thing that comes to your mind is a former athlete who gave his all for Galatasaray and who, despite having left the club, finds peace and happiness in the success of his community?
"IT DOES NOT MEAN I HAVE NO FEELINGS"
I am not talking about the numbers, the trophies won, or the goals; otherwise, as you said, to completely ignore them would be 'ingratitude.' At the foundation of the story of every player who reaches the Galatasaray level, there are countless sacrifices, and I am used to getting stronger as I take hits. However, this does not mean that I have no feelings. Unfortunately, I am not the one to blame for your pessimistic and meaningless revanchist attitude, even when describing a positive situation. Honestly, I don't even understand what you want from me.
"I AM AN ATHLETE WHO WANTS TO CONTINUE HIS FOOTBALL LIFE IN PEACE"
I am an athlete who wants to continue his football life in peace and happiness, and who wants to concentrate on his match a few hours later. I know that when I use my right to reply, I will be criticized, and people will say, 'He is still following comments on match day, how unhappy he is, that's why...' but that is not the case.
I don't know what you do for a living, but I hope that the people who comment on your profession do not base their criticisms on unreal, memorized words and legendary clichés.
Because today I am the subject; tomorrow, it will be my other brothers who are very successful today..."
THE CRITICISM MADE BY THE GALATASARAY FAN
The comment made by the Galatasaray fan on social media:
"There may be those who do not agree with what I have written, and I respect that, but Kerem's departure also played a part in Galatasaray maintaining such a point tally in both Europe and the league. I have nothing to say against Kerem's consistency or his contribution to the attack, and he directly influenced many matches, but his game also has serious baggage."
