Kobe Bryant's championship ring sold for a record price!

The 2000 championship ring won by legendary Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant has been sold at auction for 927 thousand dollars.

The 2000 NBA Finals ring, which Bryant gifted to his father, was sold at a Goldin auction for 927 thousand dollars, managing to break the sales record for an NBA championship ring.

The previous record was held by Bill Russell's first ring, won in 1957 and sold for 705 thousand dollars in 2021.

Goldin noted that the ring contains a total of 40 diamonds and is made of 14-karat gold. The front features the Lakers logo and the inscription "World Champion," while one side of the ring bears the phrase "Ring Bling," another side shows the year "2000," and the other side displays Bryant's name along with the Lakers' 67-15 regular-season record and 15-8 playoff record. The bottom features the number 8, which Bryant wore during the first half of his career.

The championship the Lakers won in 2000 was the first of five titles in Bryant's career. The Los Angeles team defeated the Indiana Pacers in six games, led by the duo of Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.
