Letter from imprisoned Erden Timur to Galatasaray
Former Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Deputy Chairman Erden Timur, who was detained as part of a "betting in football" investigation and subsequently arrested on charges of "laundering assets derived from crime," has written a letter to the Yellow-Red community from Silivri Prison.
Former Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Deputy Chairman Erden Timur, currently held in Silivri Prison, has penned a letter addressed to the Galatasaray community following the team's fourth consecutive championship victory.
In his letter, which begins with the words, "Great Galatasaray fans, great Galatasaray community, who have experienced many championships and won many victories...", Timur thanked the president, management, technical staff, players, club employees, and fans who contributed to this historic success.
Erden Timur included the following statements in his letter:
"Great Galatasaray fans, great Galatasaray community, who have experienced many championships and won many victories...
Once again it is spring, once again it is May, and for the fourth time in a row, through thick and thin, we are champions again. First and foremost, I send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has worked hard for this historic success since day one: from the president to the management, our coach to the technical staff, the medical team to the communications team, the administrative staff to the scouting team, the security team to our drivers, the cooks working day and night in Kemerburgaz, the brothers who bring us tea, the sisters and brothers who handle the cleaning, and everyone who contributed... Bless your hands and your hearts...
My lion-hearted brothers who put your hearts into it without tiring or giving up during the intense match schedule, who stood united in difficult times, who became one body, and who looked out for one another; unfortunately, I cannot call you from here, I cannot come to be with you, but I embrace you all one by one with longing. You know that I am always with you. A bond of the heart knows no distance, of course... all my best to you all...
And to the great Galatasaray fans, the great Galatasaray community, who have sacrificed their work, their families, and their own pockets, and who have stood by their passion despite countless sacrifices in the hustle of life where everyone faces various difficulties... Your efforts are invaluable. I believe that much better days are waiting for us now. Our 'Red Apple' (ultimate goal) is clear. What we first said four years ago is still in all of our memories, just as it was on the first day. We will be champions in Europe again. We can only achieve this by being patient, by embracing each other in difficult times, by standing by our team and our lion-hearted brothers no matter what happens, by always showing loyalty, and by being 'One'—not just for the championship, but to protect our passion. Because this passion is a memory from our childhood.
Simple and without reason. Because this passion is the sanctuary of our difficult times.
Finally, I would like to end with a small request. As consecutive championships arrive, our responsibility as fans and as a community increases even more. We must grow our championships and successes together without upsetting, without breaking, by understanding the state of others, and by not hurting even when we are hurt. Because this sport is beautiful with its rivals; thinking of everyone's children as much as our own is the most fundamental responsibility of our nature. Because Galatasaray values, and more importantly, human values, are superior to every success and every championship.
Once again, may the championship of our Galatasaray, which makes us smile under all circumstances, be blessed...
Today is also Mother's Day... I wholeheartedly celebrate the Mother's Day of all mothers, especially my wife and my mother, who are the names of unconditional love, patience, and sacrifice.
Stay well..."
