Leverkusen is racing toward the championship in Germany!

German Bundesliga's 26th week saw Freiburg face off against Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen won the match played at the Europa-Park Stadium with a score of 3-2.

Leverkusen took the lead in the 2nd minute with a goal from Florian Wirtz. The home team equalized in the 10th minute with Ritsu Doan. Adam Hlozek put Leverkusen ahead once again in the 40th minute.

Patrick Schick scored the goal that extended the lead to 2 in the 53rd minute. Freiburg reduced the deficit to 1 in the 79th minute with Yannik Keitel, but there were no more goals in the remaining minutes.

Winning their 7th consecutive match in the league and maintaining their undefeated status, Leverkusen increased their points to 70 and kept the 10-point gap between them and second-place Bayern Munich. Freiburg remained at 33 points.

Leverkusen will host Hoffenheim next week. Freiburg will travel to face Borussia Mönchengladbach.
