The Los Angeles Lakers have added Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets to their roster. According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania, the Lakers sent Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, an unprotected 2031 first-round draft pick, and a 2030 draft pick swap to the Hornets for this trade.
A NEW CENTER AFTER ANTHONY DAVIS
The Lakers had faced a significant void at the center position following the Luka Dončić-Anthony Davis trade that took place over the weekend. Moving to fill this void, Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka stated in a statement on Monday that he had accelerated his efforts to address this deficiency through the trade market. In line with this, the team managed to meet its need in the center rotation by adding 2.13-meter tall Duke University graduate Mark Williams to its roster.
STARTED THE SEASON WELL
In his third season in the NBA, Williams has been performing at a career-high level, averaging 15.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
