Lucescu returns to football: Full authority granted
A surprise offer has been made to manager Mircea Lucescu, who previously coached Beşiktaş and Galatasaray and was linked with the black-and-white team in recent months. It is claimed that if the 78-year-old football figure accepts the offer, he will sign a 5-year contract.
It is claimed that Romanian manager Mircea Lucescu, whose name has occasionally been linked with Beşiktaş, has received a surprise transfer offer from his home country.
Lucescu has received a general manager proposal from Rapid Bucharest, where he previously served as head coach for two terms.
Dan Şucu, who holds the majority stake in Rapid, stated in an interview with the Romanian news site Fanatik that their priority during this period is to bring the experienced football figure to the helm of the team with full authority.
In his statement, Şucu said, "My priority and Rapid's priority these days is Mircea Lucescu. We are working only on him! Everything else can wait. Likewise, other opinions for or against this matter can wait. We want Mircea Lucescu, who is a manager suitable for a professional football model."
Dan Şucu, who is optimistic about Lucescu's arrival at Rapid, said, "If he accepts, the entire technical and sporting side will belong to him. I am optimistic. We may get an answer next week."
